I hooked up my controller with a usb converter that I made, and made it work on a Vista operating system and also it works with controllers other than the original xbox controllers, like the Madcatz ones. To learn how to do this visit http://www.freewebs.com/superhack123
you can also modify this mod and hook up a wireless controller… but thats more complicated and will be on the site eventually…

done it all …
done it all connected the wires so installed the driver then plugged in the controller ( i have the saitek adrenalin racing wheel tho ) it installs it and device manager recognises it but the XBCD setup utility doesnt see it
any ideas?

Works great for me.
Tested it on my stepdads machine last night, after converting mine to usb. Drivers worked great, controller worked smoothly.
Just wish I could use it on my 360

One of your other drivers is overriding the controller driver… you probably installed something new that needed a serial bus hub
