- How can I connect a USB web cam to an Ethernet network?
Posted on Monday, March 9th, 2009 in Ethernet to usb – Comments: (0)I have several Logitech USB webcams. THey need to be placed at least 25' from my video server and this is farther than the USB standard will suport. Therefore I need to either buy USB extenders or convert the USB to Ethernet. What is the best solution?Really, the problem is that you've got the wrong tools for the job. USB is designed for peripherals in a desktop environment, and is not meant to operate over extended distances.
- Is a usb 2.0 audio interface w/ midi an alternative to buying a better sound card?
Posted on Thursday, March 12th, 2009 in USB audio device – Comments: (1)Like the Emu 0404 USB audio/MIDI interface. does that act as your sound card, or bypass it or something? or do you still need a powerful sound card?Yes, an audio interface is essentially a powerful soundcard… in a box! I assume you're looking for something to record with? While it works 'okish' most of the time, USB isn't really the best protocol for audio.
- Yamaha Audiogram USB Audio Interfaces at Summer NAMM 08
Posted on Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 in USB audio device – Comments: (8)Yamaha is out to become the kings of the entry-level USB audio interfaces. Their new Audiogram series will be some of the lowest-priced interfaces on the market, but still feature full phantom power, more inputs than the competition, and even a one-knob compressor on the Audiogram 6. Need I also point out that they look cooler than most interfaces, regardless of price range?
