This is me flashing my BIOS with a Gigabyte P55-UD4P motherboard using the Q-flash utility which comes on Gigabyte motherboards. I looked for a video on Q-flash I could use for a reference and could not find one so, I made one. I am not an expert. Use this information at your own risk. Do not flash your BIOS for no reason, it can ruin your board if you don’t do it correctly. I don’t claim this information is all correct. This method worked for me. I made this to help people and so I could look at it in the future. Please do not contact me about this information. I will not give any advice about flashing your machine so please don’t ask. However let me know if you were looking for this information as I was. If your board has Q-flash, update the BIOS with it.

Only use this troubleshooting guide if your USB Flash drive can not be booted by entering the boot menu on your computer by pressing the allocated key (which is clearly listed on the bottom of your screen when you turn on most computers). The most common keys for boot menu are ‘F8′ and ‘F12′. Troubleshooting: set your computer to boot from USB Flash Drive. To Enter the BIOS press the ‘Del’ button on your keyboard or, depending on the type of bios, one of these alternatives: ‘F1′, ‘F2′, ‘F8′, ‘F10′ ‘F12′, ‘insert’ or ‘tab’. The main goal oft his project was to connect an old Dendy (Russian modification of SNES) joystick to a PC over USB. I decided not to use any of known adapters. I created the whole new PCB instead, adding an ATMega8 microcontroller which runs USB software implementation from http://obdev.at . Then I developed a PC application which translates data coming from joystick into keyboard events. Thus I was able to fake keyboard key presses and play virtually any game with old good SNES joystick

P.S. You can even type in Notepad with it

I hooked up my controller with a usb converter that I made, and made it work on a Vista operating system and also it works with controllers other than the original xbox controllers, like the Madcatz ones. To learn how to do this visit http://www.freewebs.com/superhack123
you can also modify this mod and hook up a wireless controller… but thats more complicated and will be on the site eventually…
