tigranater has informed me that If you want play on PAL 60, the EasyCap won’t support it unless you have bought an EasyCapDC60+. normal easycaps don’t work with pal 60.

I had eminence difficulty trying to work it out how to install and use my EasyCap. I even tried looking at thousands of YouTube videos to try and work it out, but none of them worked. So I had a play arround with the settings and I worked it out. Because of this I made this tutorial!!!!

Do what is below if your screen is black after you do exactly the same as on the video!

If your from Europe then you have to do this!

TO START OFF WITH MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE RECORDING IN MPEG FORMAT!

1. Click on options.
2. Click on video and audio capture property settings.
3. Make sure that the input source is set to composite.
4. Make sure that the TV system is set to PAL.
5. Click on Capture (In the top right of the video and audio capture property settings box).
6. Select Custom (If not already selected) and set it to 400 by 400 (Default).
7. Change the quality to 100%.
8. Click on advanced.
9. Change the bit rate to 384.
10. Change the sample rate to 48000.
11. Click on OK.
12. Click on source.
13. Change the TV system to PAL again.
14. Click on OK.
15. Your done.

BUT IF YOUR FROM AMERICA THEN CHANGE WHENEVER I SAY PAL TO NTSC!

The reason why he gets colour straight away when he clicks on “Video Composite”, is because his PAL standard is set to 50Hz rather than 60Hz which is comonly used on XBOX 360 and most games. So you have to change the Pal Setting to PAL 50Hz rather than 60Hz.

Best Quality settings for EasyCAP guide

An easy to follow guide on how to get the best quality videos from your EasyCAP.

1. Will this work on a PS3?

It will work on a PS3. Just do everything that is instructed in the video except for the bit at the start where I am using my Xbox 360.
I don’t own a Playstation 3 so you may have to find a way to change your display settings to suit a widescreen television (16:9) by yourself or you could google it. Its usually in “Settings” or something.

2. When I try to record using EasyCAP on my Playstation 3 it comes out black and white and there is no way to change to Pal-50.

Chances are that you’re stuck with a dud EasyCAP, like me. *High fives*. It’s because the Playstation 3 doesn’t have any games that are Pal-50 and your EasyCAP can only record Pal-50. It’s not the settings that I have used in the Ulead Studio, because my EasyCAP doesn’t record Pal-60 either.
Make sure you check steps 13 and 17, because mucking up ‘PAL’ and ‘NTSC’ can screw with your colour.
Some EasyCAPs, like the ones off of eBay, do not support Pal-60. The DC60 does not record PAL60 but the DC60+ does. This guide works with all EasyCAPs. My EasyCAP doesn’t record pal-60 and I’m the one that made this video.
So I take it from your experience and from Google that you cannot change to Pal-50 on a Playstation 3, which is unfortunate. Sony just didn’t put people with bad capture cards that can’t record pal-60 and people with old, crappy televisions on their list of important people. *Shakes fist angrily at Sony*
From what I know, there are no PS3 games that are Pal-50 anyway. The Pal-50option is really only for people with really old, crappy televisions that don’t support Pal-60. So Sony probably thought, “anyone who has enough money to buy our PS3 surely has enough money to buy a reasonable television”.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news =(. So the solution is to get a new capture card that records Pal-60 (an EasyCAP DC60+ or another brand).

How do I use the software that you reccomended?

The best format to convert it to would be a WMV file. There should be a WMV and choose Custom Resize. For this you will need to select the size. It can be any size you want as long as its a 16:9 ratio. Pick 720×480 or 1280×720.
I use Sony Vegas to resize my videos now, but that program was what I used to use.

Can you capture video with Sony Vegas?

Yes you can. But I’ve tried it and it had a lot of trouble recognizing the EasyCAP, then when it did the quality wasn’t very good. It’s a lot better and easier to do it using the Ulead studio like I’ve done in this video.

Does Widescreen affect the quality?
Doing it in 16:9 widescreen stretches the pixels I think. The difference in quality between 16:9 widescreen stretched pixels and square 4:3 isn’t noticable to the naked human eye.
So in short, no. Unless you watch the video with a telescope.

Your EasyCAP is probably plugged into a USB1.0 instead of a 2.0.

Do you use ‘TV Out’ or splitters?
I use the ‘TV Out’ on my TV for EasyCAP. I havn’t tested the quality of EasyCAP with splitters compared to TV Out. But I noticed a slight difference in quality with my other lag-free capture card when I plugged my Xbox directly into it instead of TV Out.
The more stuff that the signal has to travel through the more it diminishes. The effects are quite unnoticable, as you can see above =D. Splitters shouldnt effect the quality at all though.

Mine keeps coming up in black and white?
This means you have an older version of the EasyCAP. This older version that you have is incapable of recording PAL60 games. The one you bought was the DC60. The one you need to record PAL60 is the DC60+.

Does EasyCAP work on a MAC?
Yes there is. Well, it claims to anyway, lol. There are two versions of EasyCAP, the DC60 and the DC60+. The DC60+ is the one you want. The DC60+ is slightly more expensive and bit harder to find because its not rubbish. It has a picture of a guy riding a bike instead of the picture of the laptop like the others. Also Ulead software doesn’t work with a Mac. So you’ll have to film with something else.

How do I find a USB driver?

I’m having trouble with all the USB ports on my PC. It’s an older PC, but it has Windows XP on it. In my system, it says my devices are working properly, but when I connect things to the ports, it tells me I have new hardware and my computer prompts me for my installation CD. I no longer have the original XP disk because I didn’t download it myself. Is there a way for me to find some other driver that can help me? The system says there’s nothing wrong with the reports but I can’t transfer files from my usb stick, put any music on my cellphone, or do anything else that requires a USB connection. I’ve been on Microsoft’s site for the better part of the day. I’ve updated my computer a few times but it hasn’t helped. Went to Intel’s site because they manufactured ports, but they sent me back to Microsoft. What else can I do to get my ports working? I don’t have the XP disk, so I can’t look to that for help.

There is a possibility it is not the port. Read this.

Problem With USB Port – Can’t Reinstall USB Device – Plug & Play Problem
- With Windows Plug & Play feature, Windows is supposed to recognize any device plugged into a USB port — the problem is after it recognizes something once, Plug & Play will never again try to install that device. You need to erase all memory of the device (printer etc) from the computer.
- Right-click on My Computer, cl Properties, click Hardware, click Device Manager.
- Click on the plus sign next to “Universal Serial Bus.” Look for the problem device’s name and right-click. Now Remove. Restart and reinstall.

Note: I found that if I did not go through the “safely remove” procedure before unplugging a USB device, the computer did not recognize another item. I had to reinsert the first item, “safely remove,” then plug in another item. This must be like shutting down for USBs.

Any USB extension over 15 feet needs an active cable to somehow relay the USB messages and stay within specifications. One could put a hub after 15 feet and then provide another 15 cable or you could buy an active extension cable that regenerates the USB signal. Such a device actively buffers the messages because it acts as a transparent USB hub. Because of this, you’re not going to need any drivers because it enumerates as a generic hub. You can cascade up to 5 of these giving a distance of 75 feet. Expect to pay about $30.

Some of the problems people using these cables may have been do to the fact that the extension cable gets it power from the host and consumes some current just as a hub would do if it didn’t get any external power. You might want to check your bios settings if you are using theses extensions with a keyboard or mouse and having problems.

Where can I find a file to make a floppy USB Boot Driver disk?

I formatted and partitioned my disk just the way I like it. But, I fairly positive my CD drive is bad, Ubuntu won’t install from the disk. I want to make a USB boot disk, but my computer won’t boot to USB. I’ve seen Microsoft offer a download of a driver that you can write to a floppy that redirects the boot operation to the CD drive. Is there a way to make a floppy driver that will let my computer boot to USB?

With all of its sophisticated error checking and correcting, a USB cable wouldn’t be of much use if its electrical signals were not up to scratch. So a lot of work has been done to make sure that the transfer of data is reliable by paying attention to the cable construction, its shielding and physical characteristics. Of course, if you are a normal user, all you have to do is use compliant cables. But if you are involved in creating USB devices, you probably want to know more.

We will just talk about the original USB 1.x low and full speed signaling. The rise and fall times are different for each speeds. The signal transmitters and receivers are also different for each speed. Interestingly enough, the USB cable must be able to withstand the shorting of any of the two signal lines without damage to the receiver and transmitter hardware on each line.

An electrical path between a USB device and an “upstream” hub is called a segment. The upstream term is used because USB is organized as a tree with the desktop computer host as the root. This means that you can also have a hub connected to an “upstream” hub on a segment. The lowest segment determines the data rate to the desktop computer host. A low speed data rate can be carried on a higher speed segment, it’s just at a lower rate. You can’t have a high-speed rate carried by a low speed segment.

There are several electrical differences between low and full speed. First is the rate. Low speed is 1.5 Mbs and full speed is 12 Mbs. Another difference is that low speed is inverted compared to full speed. That is a logic “1” has its voltage reversed on the USB D+ and D- lines (data) compared to a “1” on full speed. Thirdly, The slow speed has a longer rise time on its pulse’s edges. This allows for less signal reflection on the cable and allows you to have thinner, cheaper cables without shielding like you see with keyboards and mice.

Increasing your FTDI Chip’s Efficiency

When you are using a USB serial port based on the popular 232BM FTDI chip set, there are some things you can do to make your transfer of data faster and prevent the loss of transferred data. Since the serial device uses USB bus bulk transfers, the time that data goes back and forth can vary if there is other traffic from other devices on the bus competing with it like video or audio isochronous transfers. This might not be quite a problem because the data has to sent and received at a slower baud rate at the RS232 port end. If you think about it, the FTDI virtual com port driver or their more direct D2XX driver have the ability to transfer up to 300 kbs and 1 Mbs respectively, this top speed is faster (like 1000 baud) than most of your typical RS232 serial ports.

There is an interesting setting for minimizing latency in the driver. If you only need to transfer 62 bytes or less, the D2XX driver has a setting that can change its latency timeout from its standard value of 16 milliseconds to a range of 1 to 255 milliseconds. At the shortest setting, the FTDI driver will send status bytes with included data at a periodic 1-millisecond rate depending on bulk IN packets (to the PC host) being acknowledged with a USB ACK packet.

Another nice latency controlling feature is that you can define an event character with the D2XX driver that will enable the host to request a device to transfer its data immediately. When this event character is received, the FTDI controller sends status messages with up to 62 data bytes in the packet. This special character is part of your data that you send and the hardware controller takes it out automatically. There are also external lines that you can cause a transfer to occur. Filling up the transmit buffer to 62 bytes will also cause an immediate transfer.

If you aren’t using handshake lines of your serial port, you probably want to know that the 232BM has a 384 byte buffer for data going into the PC host and a 128 byte buffer going out. This is because of the bulk transfer nature of the USB serial port class (or CDC more exactly). There is no guarantee that the PC host will request the data and the USB bus could also be busy even when a request is make. This is one of the main timing differences to keep in mind while using these types of serial ports as compared to the traditional serial ports on a PC. The similarly functioning 245BM USB parallel port interface chip set that FDTI also makes has the same buffer sizes for its inputs and outputs.

Creating a USB Driver with a Toolkit

There are two software packages that allow you to quickly create a USB driver by automating lot of the work for you as much as possible. They are from Jungo and Compuware NuMega. One thing to note is the USB toolkit software seems to take two different routes in generating a functioning USB driver. One way is to create a very generic driver that just handles the very basic USB communication and thus builds a specialized device only or a device specific driver that runs in the user mode of your operating system along with its corresponding INF file for install. The other type of tool kit provides you as the programmer libraries to call in helping you write a custom driver for your device.

Not a lot of programming is needed for the generic type of driver and it is quite fast to put together. But the downside is that it can’t handle every situation you might use it for. The other type of USB driver that uses programming libraries is more flexible and takes more time because you have to do the C programming.

Jungo’s WinDriver toolkit is the user mode type and really requires no programming at all. You simply fill in the details in its Driver Wizard and you get files that you can compile and build a custom user mode driver in one executable file. The user mode driver works by communicating with Jungo’s provided kernel mode driver, which does the low level driver work. An install INF file is also created. Your application can use the built driver by using device specific functions. You can also test device before you create the USB driver with the WinDriver Device Wizard. Jungo also has a way in which you can get faster performance by moving some of your generated programming code into its kernel mode driver by use of their kernel plug ins. There is a Linux version of WinDriver.

There are two products for creating custom drivers. They are CompuWare’s DriverWorks and Jungo’s Kernel Driver USB. You fill in the details in both toolkit’s programming Wizards and they create template code that will compile into a driver. You have to have some knowledge of the toolkit’s code libraries to do what you want, but the final result is much more efficient and as fast as if the USB driver were written from scratch with the Windows Driver Device Development Kit (DDK).

Dual Monitor Video Card

If you’re like me, you going to want to have more video desktop space at certain times. Even if your computer or laptop has two video ports, sometimes just being able to add another low update rate video screen to show extra web pages or text can be very helpful. When it comes to dual monitor video cards, USB is definitely the way to go because you don’t have to open up your computer to add a PCI card. The downside is the USB bus is not going to transfer at the rate of your computers internal bus. Also some specialized software like DVD play back may have trouble using these unusual video devices created by the custom USB drivers.

There are some product choices for these particular types of USB adapters. Such a device is in theory a video device but not in the same class of the more standardized video capture USB class that you would have with webcams and USB video inputs. So default drivers written by the operating system can’t be used. Instead, a customized driver has to be written for the operating system so that the dual monitor video card device appears as an extra video screen. Because of this, don’t expect these devices to work under Linux unless the manufacture specifically creates a driver. To a lesser extent Apple OSX might or might not have drivers.

A good example of a dual monitor video card is the Matrox Dualhead2go. This device allows you get two extra desktop screens including the exiting output from your notebook or desktop. For more money there is a TripleHead2go version with three VGA outputs. Matrox has written drivers for the devices for windows 2000, XP, and Vista. The Mac OS drivers show OSX 10.4 and 10.5. They also list Linux drivers but I seem not to be able to find a link to download those on their website, so it is possible that it is a open source project found elsewhere.

Another cheaper device is the StarTech USB2VGA adapter. There seems to be Windows 2000, XP, vista, and window 7 drivers written for it, and creates one extra VGA output screen per adapter. Interestingly, the USB driver is written to run up to five additional displays for more USB2VGA devices you plug in. You can also just mirror your existing display if you want. Don’t expect to use these external displays for video streams. You can only do so much with the USB speed and CPU load with these types of dual monitor video cards. No Apple OSX drivers. StarTech also has a DVI version called USB2DVI, which is more expensive.

There are two main categories of USB communication; the first is the exchange used in enumerating the device, and after that, secondly, the transfer used by applications that perform the device’s purpose. During this start up phase of USB, called enumeration, the host first finds out details about the USB device and prepares it for the later exchanging of data. Then application data transfer happens when the host transfers back and forth the data that you are going to use the device for. As an example, lets consider a keyboard device; the running host application gets the sending of keypress data to then display this character on the screen in your word processor. This all happens after the enumeration phase where the host figures out that it is a keyboard and it gets character data.

So, during the enumeration process, if the device has a microcontroller, its programming has to check for requests from the host. The device then has to identify each request and send back the requested information plus do other things asked by the host as requests. For example if you have a joystick, the host would ask how many buttons or knobs exist and the device would send that back.

Now on PC’s, Windows does the enumeration, so the user doesn’t have do any programming. But to finish up the enumeration when you first attach the device, Windows has to find a particular INF file that indentifies the file name and location of its USB device driver. As you probably know, if the required files are found, the programming of the device’s microcontroller functions correctly, and the enumeration process is done seamlessly behind the users back with out them having to do anything.

This is why a lot of times you have warning messages on packages of new hardware asking you to load from the CD first the USB device drivers before inserting the device. What happens otherwise is Windows goes out and gets a default driver for your device that maybe is just a minimal functioning one rather than the enhanced one written by the manufacturer that you really need.

After the host has transferred back and forth the device enumeration details with the USB device and a device driver is assigned to it and loaded, the application can now start to communicate. The programs running on the host can use standard Windows API calls or other popular Windows components to read and write to the device ultimately using the device driver.

Looking at the device’s microcontroller programming, transferring data usually involves either placing data to send in the controller’s transmit buffer or retrieving received data from its receive buffer. The controller has flags that tell when either type of transfer has completed ensuring that everything is ready for the next transfer. The microcontroller also has to be programmed to handle exceptional conditions such as error handling and other events like the low power sleep mode.

There are four types of data transfers, control, interrupt, bulk, and isochronous. Each type of USB device class such as keyboard, external hard drive, or video capture device uses these data transfers types to achieve different needed results. A time critical video device would use isochronous transfers with their fast delivery and data drop out if necessary. While a hard drive storage class uses bulk just to get the data transferred without worrying about time but verifying that things got transferred ok. A keyboard or mouse uses the interrupt transfer for small bits of data with less critical timing as that of say a USB video device.

Serial to USB Adapter?

I have been searching and all the adapters I have found are to convert USB ports to Serial ports. I want just the opposite. I want to convert the Serial port on my old 95′ system to a USB port. A link to a product on Amazon ,Yahoo, or Ebay would be helpful as I am cautious about other vendors.
My computer has only a 15-Pin Serial Port. I am not going to mod it in any way. I won’t even open the case. I want an adapter.

I realize that this is not the answer you want, but for a plethora of reasons you would be far better off purchasing a PCI USB card. Like one of these…

Give it some thought. I understand it might be a matter of having enough PCI slots… you probably have a NIC, SOund card, and maybe a video card running PCI… but you can change to a USB network dongle… and still have 3 USB ports to go.

USB to Serial adapter not detecting modem?

I have just upgraded my PC and realised it hasn’t got a serial port to connect my fax modem to.
I have purchased a usb to serial adapter from ebay, it’s the usual unbranded chineese style, with the only name saying HL on the packet.
It seems to install itself, saying its a ‘HUGH PINE USB to Serial port’, however, I can’t get my modem to work through it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Not all serial devices will work through a serial to USB adapter, so I suspect you’re out of luck.

USB or PCI modems are relatively cheap – I’d suggest just picking up a new modem.

DUX project

The main goal oft his project was to connect an old Dendy (Russian modification of SNES) joystick to a PC over USB. I decided not to use any of known adapters. I created the whole new PCB instead, adding an ATMega8 microcontroller which runs USB software implementation from http://obdev.at . Then I developed a PC application which translates data coming from joystick into keyboard events. Thus I was able to fake keyboard key presses and play virtually any game with old good SNES joystick

P.S. You can even type in Notepad with it

Here is and interesting FTDI project blog involving interfacing an IO board from a pc using rs232 to i2c conversion. It involves the FT2232D chip of the new FTDI USB generation. The fellow tried to order a development kit but his order never came through so he had to cancel it. Instead he created a hardware board to interface to an i2c IO board that he had.

This design, although its performance it not that fantastic, lets you cheaply interface a PC computer running Linux, windows or OSX with any customized external board that uses a i2c bus as communication. Be aware of the fact that this only works with the newer series of FTDI named 2232C or 2232D.

In using the FTDI chips D2XX mode, which is meant for lower level design and special modes, there are a set of files named ftd2xx.dll, ftd2xx.lib, and ftd2xx.h that are the minimum files that you need to start making FTDI programs with visual studio.

Also he found that if you want to create an interface to an i2c bus, you must also download an extra development package called MPSSE. Since most people use the Virtual Comport (VCP) mode of the FTDI, this shows that there are other modes of the FTDI chipset.

Another project involves the latest FTDI chipset series 2232H. This chip has 4096 buffers on board and is capable of 4 megabits per second.

PS2 to PC adapter i found lying around probbly bought 2 years back, actually work on my PS3 which is kind of suprising to me. Notice how to SIXXIS Controller goes to 3 when the adapter is plug in. The Adapter will be Controller 1 & 2. The two ports on the adapter works so you can have your two player brawl on Soul Calibur 4 or maybe upcoming versus games.

So before running down to buy a new PS2 to PS3 adapter, maybe you have one of these lying around. Give it a try, see if it works altho might not be the best solution but if it works why not save some cash?

How Do I Connect a USB Camera to a Serial Port?

I’ve tried ebay and google and Maplins etc they all do a converter that lets you plug a serial device into a usb port but my old laptop only has a serial port no usb at all. I want to plug my camera into it but that is usb I bought a usb cardbus but its type II and wont fit (laptop must be type stone-age )
anyone got a link to a serial to USB adapter or a better idea apart from burn the laptop and turn it into modern art

Looking around I don’t actually think you can go from Serial to USB. The main problem you will have is that there won’t be any drivers to read the serial port to setup the camera even if you could connect it.

If it’s an old PC you probably have a Type I PCMCIA slot (3.3mm) the Type II is 5mm and all the SD card readers are Type II. So I would go with the burning option or get a friend to pop the images onto a CD for you.

Cat 5 to USB Extender?

I have a VGA and USB Wallplate connection behind my TV and in other locations in the house. This is to allow me to use my PC (which is located in another room) as a monitor and home entertainment purposes throughout the house. The VGA is working no problems there but the USB is not. With no way of accessing the cable for the USB i know have to look at what is left which is the Cat 5 cable also at each point. I noticed that you can buy Cat 5 to USB extenders and i am wondering if they are any good.
You can buy a USB extender which does work well, but do beware of the length you’re running the cable. You will be losing data integrity during conversion, but I am pretty sure USB can only send signal so far…

Where is the USB connector on my 2009 Civic Hybrid?

I have a brand new Honda Civic Hybrid (ES with Leather model) and I can’t find the USB connector? I’m told it should have one – can anyone help? No related posts. No related posts.

IMPORTANT – You may need FFDShow to record sound. Download from here – http://free-codecs.com/download/FFDshow.htm

Best Settings:

1. Make sure you use NTSC_433 as appose to PAL60 even if your in the UK – You’ll find out why in the video.
2. Make sure to select DVD_NTSC_HQ_16_9 or DVD_NTSC_HQ (depending on if you use widescreen or not). This is the highest quality setting the EzCap can do.
3. Make sure to select the EzCap from the drop down menu next to source. The EzCap may be known as 2 different names. – USB 2861 Device or Syntek ******* (not sure of the rest)
4. IMPORTANT – Select MPEG as the format.

COMMON MISTAKES:

1. People sometimes forget to select Composite as the input source. – The default is S-Video – you NEED to change this (unless of course, your using S-Video. – Which I don’t recommend).
2. In mine, because I have Windows 7 the Audio is identified as PCI Audio – if yours says that and its greyed out (like mine): – If the audio works – Don’t worry about it – If the audio doesn’t work – Reinstall the EzCap drivers.
3. Selecting PAL 60 as the TV System may cause the green bar at the bottom of the screen (like on the video when I select PAL 60). If you select NTSC_433 this will resolve that error.

System Specs:

If you have any lag of any sort – Audio or Video – try closing all programs apart from your capture software. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, take a look at my sys specs and see if yours matches or beats it.

Still having problems?

There are many fake EasyCaps/EzCaps floating around. Take a look at your EzCap – It HAS to say “EzCap” on it – If it says EasyCap it’s a fake – and won’t work as well or even atall. I have recommended the seller I brought my EzCap off to many people and all are happy with it.

SCSI to USB Adapter Cable Use with Scanners.

Here is an example of a USB to SCSI adapter. It has an advertised max transfer
rate of 1.2MB/sec, which is almost the USB 1.1 interface rate (i.e. not taking advantage of USB 2.0). If you were using a scanner, the transfer rate is low enough, to perhaps cause the scanner to enter start/stop mode (scanner stops while data buffer empties, increasing scan time).

The DB-25 option is something that Apple used to use. Typically this
is Async SCSI and 8 bit, running at a pretty low speed (5M/sec to 6M/sec,
with max speed proportional to cable length, due to how data strobing
works). Old scanning devices are seldom cable limited, and a scanner
with Mac DB-25 interface runs between 1 and 2MB/sec. The Coolgear example,
looks to have a DH50 connector.

The spdif usb audio is really standard way of communicating digital signals. Spdif can also be considered to be a set of procedures that keeps everything compatible and working together. If you have either optical cable and digital coax, they can both use spdif. You can think of it as a sort of digital pipeline between electronic units regardless of the connecting cable.

Now through this digital pipeline, we can send many different digital signals such as PCM, DTS, dolby digital. A stereo pair is usually sent as PCM (which stands for Pulse Code Modulation). If you have a digital output by coax with an RCA connector, it easy to convert this to an optical signal known as a TOSLINK connector. TOSLINK was invented by Toshiba and is pretty much an industry standard optical cable connection.

Great White North Technologies has a M-Audio Quattro USB control panel replacement for Windows Vista. The current control panel supplied by M-Audio doesn’t work in vista but the drivers do. The new program will let you change the ASIO operating mode the the Quattro to select the bit depth, sampling rate and in out configuration when using the Quattro on windows vista 32bit version. You can also select the ASIO latency when using the Quattro on vista 32bits.

This new program works by locating the Quattro driver’s ASIO settings in the registry, reading the current registry keys and allowing you to save the new values. You, of course, need admin privileges to change the settings.

Game Port to USB adapter

There are quite a few game port usb adapters that take the 15 pin older analog joystick and game controllers and convert them to a standard USB HID joystick class. Expect to pay about $20 or $30 for one.

There can be problems with trying to convert a steering wheel such as the logitech wingman formula or wingman interceptor. The game port converter has to make a decision to map axis, buttons, and hat switches which probably don’t correspond to the original functions.

There are also problems with the original Microsoft Sidewinder. People tried to use the Belkin USB adapter for sidewinder and got the message “Game port not configured” properly.

So these adapters are nice ideas for sure for simple old analog joysticks for sure and not make for more complex game controllers.

B. Quick installation of EasyCap in Windows

1. Install from CD both drivers and Ulead Video Studio.
2. Put EasyCap to Usb-port.
3. Let it find drivers for video and then for usb audio with Windows.
4. Boot Your computer again.
5. Start Ulead and go to Capture/Capture Video/Source to look if it has found EasyCap drivers for Video.

C. Quick installation of EasyCap DC60+ in Mac with VideoGlide demo version

1. Put that main unit to USB-port without any extra usb cable.
2. Start Your VideoGlide and it find device right away and ask for license key – but click that demonstration button.
3. Then in VideoGlide click Digitizers and there VideoGlide – and then it is ready.

D. Troubleshooting
The most common reasons that You can not get out video and/or audio are:

1. You have used scart/rca-adapter that does not have output possibilities (it is only input version).
2. You have tried to get video and audio out that kind of ports from video device that have only input direction.
3. In Windows: Files are corrupted during installation (try again) or install CD is broken.
4. That extra Usb-cable is broken – don’t use it.
5. You have wrong or not at all video- and audio codecs in Your computer (very common reason in Windows) – Use FFDSHOW-codecs
6. There is something wrong in windows computer that makes conflict with EasyCap and the most common reason is some other Usb-device in Your computer – for example Usb-webcam. Take that extra device away from Your computer and try again.
7. You do not have Usb 2.0 version ports in Your computer and so ports are too slow.
8. You have Ulead Video Studio 8.0 that is not compatible with Windows Vista with EasyCap.
9. You have EasyCap DC60 that is not compatible with 64bit Windows or Mac.
10. You try to use Your computers own audio card driver and then You can not hear any sound – You must use Usb audio drivers.

On a 2009 Honda Civic where is the iPod USB port?

I think it’s supposed to be in the center compartment but it doesn’t seem to be there. Maybe it doesn’t have it but under the AC controls it says MP3 WMP so I don’t know.

It’s right under the cigarette lighter. It has a little rubber plug in it so it can be hard to miss.

Does the original ipod color (photo) work with the ‘09 Honda Civic USB audio interface?

Yep, I’ve used my ipod photo on my sister’s ‘09 Civic.
