Can I use any USB wireless adapters for my xbox 360?

April 19th, 2009 | by Joe |

I am tired of bridging my connection from my laptop, and I certainly do not want to spend like one hundred dollars on the first party xbox wireless adapter.

What alternatives are there?

If any USB wireless adapters work, do i have to recode them to work on the 360 or what?

plz give me some choices.

No. The only one that will work is the $99 one. That's why they charge so much for it.

Use a reallly long ethernet wire lol, or use one of those things that connects 2 ethernet wires together,( I think it costs like 2$) and buy 2 ethernet wires and wire it from your router to your 360.

You can either shell out the cash for the Microsoft one or you can use a really long ethernet cable.

I have used the first generation X-box Wi-Fi adaper for about a year now. It will work and you can pick one up for $50 used I bet. I think that’s what I paid for mine. I just bought the 1st party one today. I will let you know if it was worth it after a couple weeks of testing. On the old one I rarely got 100% signal unless I was pretty close to the router and I hoping the new one will give me more distance.

Yep. Typical Microsoft. They make you buy ‘their’ adapter. Their adapter costs more than most residential routers…anyways, nice tips.
